Some of the stuff that I haven’t quite got round to yet…..
In here are some of the sadder end of the collection and some of the stuff that’s been robbed for spares to save some other poor unfortunate wireless from an early death! If there’s anything you see in here that might have something in it you need, let me know!
A few of the less ‘desirable’ wirelesses.
Tired old Bush
A sad old Bush that’s seen better days. Lots of better days. Unfortunately the mains transformer in this smokes like a hero when powered up so I think it may be a bit beyond saving!
Old Pye battery set
Unfortunately lost its tuning cap and other strategic bits to several other radios. Contrary to the pic, most of the inside had been eaten by mice when I got it, so it wasn’t really saveable. Couple of nice shiny knobs if anybody out there needs ‘em!
Some more sad cases
A few more of the less fortuate end of the scale, an old Philips that didn’t have much going for it when I bought it at a Radiophile auction for £2 and has less going for it now! The tuning drive was missing and I didn’t have the patience to fetle it. Then along comes something else that neded the valves and……… You know the rest.
There are a few other things out there with it, at least one Bush of indeterminate ancestry and some other disaster areas.
Sad HMV
A very unhappy HMV which WAS working before I forgot to shut the tailgate on the car before doing a speedy takeoff. The bus driver who ran over it did look a bit shocked! I managed to pick most of it up but the case was in too many bits to save. The dial glass and all the valves survived in one piece though.
