Vintage Radios With Valves In - Welcome to My Shed (er.. Website!)
Wireless Radio, Tube Valve, Schematic Circuit, Dial Knob!
Whatever terms you use, the art of vintage radio repair and restoration unites a global community of collectors, restorers and 'sparks' in sheds with AVO's who firmly believe that solder should have lots of lead in it, and proper electronics should have a healthy glow and radiate plenty of heat!
Jim's Mission
"To rescue poorly old radios and make them all better again!"
Brief History of Jim's Hobby
Radios with valves in, is a labour of love on the part of Big Jim McFeegle. Big Jim is passionate about radios (wirelesses.ss.ss-ssss'sss) and believes that "they don't build em like that anymore!".
Jim was fixing radios when he was knee high to a sleeping grasshopper. After many years of poking around in the backs of sets with a screwdriver and losing arguments with HT caps, Jim eventually became a proper wireless engineer and a passionate radio restorer. - Intro by Not As Big As Big Jim But Bigger Than Little Waaaa! Vintage Radio Repair, Restoration, Swaps, Components, Circuits and Such Like...
Over time I hope to build my shed (website) into a veritable Alladin's Cave of wireless'ness, with vintage radio pics, circuit diagrams, repair and restoration tips, rants, raves, 'how to do's' and 'how best not to do's eh', and lots of other useful and occasionally witty stuff!
I regularly visit auctions around the UK (northwest) and I am always on the lookout for elderly and poorly radios in need of care, attention and a good home (for the right price!). If you have any circuit diagrams, operating manuals, parts lists, owd' adverts etc. that you would very kindly like to donate a copy of, they would be most welcome and would be displayed on my website for the benefit of other radio folk (only copyright free material please, don't want to upset anyone!).
Hope you enjoyed visiting my shed (website), let me have your comments good or not bad! - Big Jim McFeegle.
